Christophe Bailleau
Christophe Bailleau is a French sound, visual and multimedia artist based in Huy (Belgium). His compositions mix acoustic sources (guitar, percussions, voices..) with daily and concrete sounds. He plays with silence, tension and contrast. Since 2004, he released several CDs on European independent labels (Le cri de la harpe, Stilll, Carte postale, Eglantine, Annexia, Fenetre records, Soundscaping, Optical Sound....). He also works poetically on radio pieces and installations often in collaboration with Julie Maréchal, with whom he also makes photographs. Christophe has also directed intriguing and poetic videos and short movies recording lost moments before or after the action, attracting the viewer in the think night or the bright light. A DVD with a selection of his videos was released by 68/70 (Brussels), they were selected in many European festivals (Rotterdam Festival, Les Transnumériques/Paris-Mons, City Sonic/Mons...)… He also collaborates with other musicians, sound artists such as recently Neil Williams, Silencio, Philippe Franck (for Pastoral) or My perfect friend.
