Rolf Julius (Ge) was born in 1939 in Deutschland and died in 2011. He studied art in Bremen and Berlin from 1961 to 1969. In the middle of the 70’s, he started to explore the contemporary music to deepen his perception of the visual language. Since 1979, he integrated progressively the sound dimension and the silence in his works and created some compositions with magnetic tapes. He was the winner award of prestigious prizes as the Deutscher Klangkunstpreis in 2004 and the prize Hannah Höchin 2005. His works were exhibited in various personal exhibitions important in Deutschland, USA, France and Japan.
