Since the beginning of the 70’s, Rolf Julius conceived a series of esthetical propositions mixing drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, sound, video and silence. He used simples elements (pigments, dust, ashes, terracotta ware or aluminium bowls, stones, wood…), various speakers, video screens, DVD players… collecting them together to make sculptures, sound objects or installations such as Large wall drawing. These elements are rearranged in various combinations. Each work can be declined so in various compositions.
